About

Allies of Alexandria was founded in July of 1997 as a joint youth ministry of the local church in Alexandria, Minnesota, made up of leaders who represent local churches and para-church ministries. The members of Allies are united around the gospel of Jesus Christ and the purposes of Allies listed below. As time progresses and members change, Allies goes through various phases of youth ministry. Currently, the emphasis is on relational ministry and training other adults to do the same, but the mission has always been to assist the church in the Alexandria area in building the Kingdom of God among the youth in Alexandria.

Purpose:

Our desire is to lead students into a vital growing relationship with Christ that is revealed through personal evangelism, passionate worship and a hunger for the Word of God.

Strategy:

We do this by…

  • Giving a clear call to students of the necessity of the New Birth through personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord as declared in the Word of God.
  • Planning, organizing, funding and providing friendship evangelism events targeting Junior and Senior High students in the Alexandria area.
  • Equipping our Christian students in following Jesus Christ and becoming disciple-makers among their generation.
  • Equipping our adult volunteer youth workers to effectively lead students into a fully-devoted relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Encouraging, supporting and praying for each other the other members of Allies.
  • Providing fellowship, encouragement, and cooperation among the youth pastors and youth workers — both church and para-church — in the Alexandria area.
